Prof. Ph. D. Remigijus Venckus on the Postmodern Exhibition as an Intellectual Dialogue
Most fans of my art know that all the opening shows of my exhibitions begin on the time set on the posters and press releases. Usually, an hour before the exhibition, I come up with the presentation on my artistic activities and experiments. I start the evolution of my creation with the following topics: early works, themes, psychoanalysis of visuality, communication in art, experiments in form and content, with the dialogues of analog and digital equipment included. Every topic is filled with much different information from art and culture history; I suppose that all these facts go with my artistic position and give impulse to enable the viewers to look up for the meanings and validate them through the archive of the history of Western culture. It would add to objectively criticising today’s culture and getting more interest in dealing with postmodern art. For the sake of understanding my position, I fill up the presentation with images from different artists’ works, which allows me to get along with famous photographers, painters, filmmakers wasting no time. I usually introduce my art as a collective thinking form, which echoes together with the intellectual dialogue of the audience.
